The
Ukiah Unified School District provides instructional
services for preschool through adult and has a modern,
comprehensive high school program which includes offerings
in Advanced Placement and Regional Occupational and
Vocational Program courses. Strong emphasis is placed
on basic skill development through the grades. A full
range of special education and bilingual education services
are available.
The Ukiah Unified School District covers an
area of approximately 495 square miles and includes
Redwood Valley, Calpella, Talmage and Hopland as well
as the City of Ukiah. There are also several private
elementary schools in the area.

Mendocino
College is a part of the California
Community College System and provides a variety
of curricula and programs, including academic preparation
for the California State University and University
of California systems, vocational education, community
extension and numerous specialized professional
preparation programs.

Sonoma
State University Center at Mendocino College, Ukiah
Sonoma State University offers an upper-division program
in Ukiah, California leading to a Bachelor of Arts in
Liberal Studies, with an emphasis on American Studies.
The Ukiah Liberal Studies program offers a wide variety
of courses from the social sciences, humanities, and
natural sciences while providing a flexible major through
which students may also take courses in other areas
of interest. Like more traditional liberal arts majors,
the Ukiah Liberal Studies major is excellent preparation
for students interested in a career in teaching or counseling,
the legal profession, or business as well as graduate
